KV1200
The KV1200 is a low cost, Plug & Play, programmable digital scrambling unit
destined mainly for Panasonic telephones with a detachable handset.
The operation cannot be simpler: a single press on the 'Secure' button will secure your call,
using an asymmetric high-rate rolling code scrambling. Any other user, who
also has a KV1200 unit, will not be able to monitor the secured call.
The KV1200 is a good choice for budget-limited applications, as well as
for highly compressed voice links, where no digital encryption will work.
RVX-1
For any security sensitive application, or where the budget is not an
issue, your choice shall be the
RVX-1, a Secured
Telephone for Analog Lines [e.g. of Digital / Analog PABX]. Compared
to other professional products, the
RVX-1
is highly cost-effective.
The RVX-1 is an easy to use like any normal telephone. One button click will
highly secure the voice link between any 2 RVX-1 units only. Hence, any
other user, who also has RVX-1 unit, will not be able to monitor the secured
call.
Notes:
*
Unlike some cheaper product, the RVX-1 has an automatic
PKI (public-key) process. A large PKI is apparently specified also in the
brochure of the competitive product, however, the same is not available
when working on PTP (point-to-point), which is the most desired and secure operation mode for any user. As a result, on PTP mode, the
cheaper product works only on a symmetrical key (which is
not even
user-programmable), so that its practical security level is very low,
without Any proportion compared to the RVX-1.
* Furthermore, some products work with a compatible cellular phone and/or
declare on PKI with apparently much larger key sizes. Practically, the
size of the same is significantly limited internally, of course
without the user knowledge, and in some cases even down to PKI of 128
bit or less, either for its respective government export control and/or
PKI process which takes an unrealistic time at a longer key-size.
* The various "unbreakable" encryption softwares on the market for
cellular phones and smartphones are practically meaningless since
apparently every phone has built-in backdoors, allowing among the rest to
manipulate and bypass the installed software application
remotely OTA (over the air), even without the user knowledge.
* The keys lengths indicated in the RVX-1 brochure refer to the worst
case, depending on the line and other conditions the dynamically created
key sizes may be far larger.
Conclusion:
if you are interested in real security, use only the
RVX-1.
